The 8th edition of ECFD will bring together academic and industrial researchers from the CFD community around massively parallel CFD codes (YALES2, AVBP, ...) to federate their expertise with the aim of improving both certain aspects linked to the physics embedded in these codes and numerical simulation methodologies to meet the technical and scientific challenges already perceptible on modern hybrid supercomputers with accelerated resources. The support through simulation of the use of sustainable fuels will be one of the objectives of this event.
Over two weeks, around 70 researchers, supported by computer scientists, will take part in:
- Plenary sessions to showcase all the tools and vehicles available to support users in the paradigm shift from general-purpose processors to innovative accelerated resources.
- A workshop on 6 different topics (Combustion, Dynamic Mesh Adaptation, Multiphase Flows, Numerics, Turbulent Flows, User Experience).
- A hackathon whose aim will be to help application owners continue their efforts to evolve their codes to take advantage of GPU resources.
