Valérie Pécresse, French ministry of higher education and research, has inaugurated, on October 25th 2010, the Très grand centre de calcul (TGCC), operated by CEA [1] (Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives), in Bruyères-le-Châtel near Paris.

This new computing center will host the French petaflopic supercomputer, Curie, which is part of the PRACE Research Infrastructure [2]. Curie will be installed by the end of the year and fully available in 2011.
